Golf, fishing and horse riding are all available locally, whilst the nearby Tarka Trail leads walkers and cyclists through superb scenery, and the Ruby Way cycle trail. The Blue Flag beaches at Westward Ho! and Bude are close by, as are many more stunning, long, sandy beaches and coves in Devon and Cornwall, which are ideal for surfing and exploring the many rock pools and cliff walks. The pretty fishing villages of Padstow, Clovelly, Rock and Port Isaac (made famous by the the programme Doc Martin), are all well worth a visit; as is mystical Tintagel with the legendary King Arthur's Castle. The wild beauty of Exmoor, Dartmoor, Bodmin Moor and the famous Eden Project are all easily accessible and perfect for nature lovers and walkers. The parish village of Highampton has a primary school, Public House, village hall and Church. There are a range of shops and facilities, and a weekly market nearby. The small market town of Hatherleigh (the smallest town in Devon!), is the closest to Lake View Rise, and is home to three pubs; The Bridge Inn, The Tally Ho and The George. Further afield are Castle Drogo, Lydford Gorge, RHS Rosemoor Gardens, Launceston Steam Railway, Dingles Fairground and the south Devon coast. The property is also a short journey to the picturesque traditional market towns of Holsworthy and Okehampton, both retaining much of their charm, and offering a wealth of shops, pubs and restaurants where a warm welcome is always assured.
THE OWNERS OWN THE FREEHOLD OF THE PROPERTY, together with part share of the leasehold of the grounds. Twelve months occupancy is permitted, the only restriction being that it is not the owners main residence.
The annual fee each owner pays to the management company for their services is approximately £249 per annum.
Each owner also pays the utilities and other costs via the management company, as they negotiate on the owner's behalf to get the best rates rates for electric, pool maintenance etc as listed below. Please note that there is no gas on site (thus no gas bill!!)
The only other cost is personal electricity, contents insurance and TV licence. "The Bolthole" is currently classed as a small business, as the owners let it out all year, so it's zero rated for council tax.
